wedding cruises

Wedding cruises have become very popular today with many of the cruise lines moving into the weddings market, offering different cruise wedding packages to suit every engaged couple.

Choosing a cruise wedding is a fabulous way to get married or renew your wedding vows as all your requirements are taken care of and you get a romantic cruise liner honeymoon included.

The prices of wedding cruises will vary depending on the chosen cruise liner and the type of cruise wedding package.

The average cost of wedding cruises can be as little as £5,000 for a couple.

From the moment you step onboard your chosen cruise liner you are pampered with champagne and flowers in your cabin, a personnel wedding coordinator and the Captain may even have permission to conduct your ceremony, depending on the legal requirements.  With just a single phone call your wedding coordinator will make all your arrangements from suit hire to spa treatments, meaning a completely stress free celebration.  They will even handle invitations and thank you notes if required to do so.

All your wedding needs are at your finger tips from handmade wedding cakes by the ships very own pastry chefs to wedding flowers from the onboard florist.  Plus prices are in keeping with shore prices.

A wedding cruise is less expensive for yourselves, though it can be expensive if you wish to invite guests. If you are having guests, you’ll need to give them plenty of notice before the actual wedding date. Send a “Save the Date” card four to six months before the wedding date, so that guests can book on to the cruise. A group booking often gives a good discount, plus if you book early enough you can reserve cabins together.

There are many different types of wedding cruises. Some cruise liners have an on board chapel, library or boardroom where you can get married. These liners can accommodate a wedding at sea or a wedding on board the ship while in port. If you are choosing a port destination for your wedding ceremony, remember if the ship is unable to reach the port you may have to consider alternatives.

Most weddings take place in the months of May, June, July and August at home, though these months may not be the best for a wedding cruise to your destination of choice.  Plus prices do vary throughout the year.

So when considering a wedding on the ocean wave you must spend a little time doing some research beforehand to ensure you have everything covered. Plus make sure you do not suffer from seasickness as this can be a disaster on your wedding day.

With everything sorted set sail, and say “I do”.

Bon voyage!
