Winter wedding gowns

If you are planning a wedding for the cooler months, you will not have to sacrifice style with these inspired wedding gowns. A wedding is a very magical time, but often the weather can be inclement so choosing the right gown is important.

Here are my favourite wedding dresses for this season:

Starting with this beautiful  Jessica bridal gown for some seasonal flair. A curve-skimming gown with a cordonnet lace layer, and a lightly gathered rear hemline, over a separate satin-bodice sheath. This gown adds a little extra warmth with its very elegant, sheer, ¾ length sleeves. Your attention is immediately drawn to the waist via a silk band, beautifully encrusted with pearls and shimmering seed beads. This is the perfect wedding gown, especially when topped off with a cosy stole for a fantastic look and extra warmth.

For a less traditional bridal gown, this romantic tea-length Iris bridal ballgown works for me, with tulle layers appliquéd with cordonnet trimmed flowers, a featured structured boned bodice, tiny covered-button detailing, and an enhanced waist adorned by a soft, silk band. A flawless, cute design for a fun loving bride.

For a little extra warmth just add this beautiful super soft faux fur shrug, a perfect match, plus adding a touch of hollywood glamour. With its long sleeves and a satin lining this shrug will be sure to keep you warm even on the coldest of days.

This classic full length, show-stopping Stella lace gown is extremely striking, with a vintage inspired lace neckline and stunning back lace detailing. For a little extra coverage for this exquisite dress you  just need a fabulous feather bolero to shimmer up your shoulders. By adding a stylish bolero to your wedding ensemble it gives a truly glamorous and vintage appeal.

If you are looking for a whimsical and romantic style then take a look at the beautifully flattering bridal collection from John Lewis. You will find styles similar to this Gardenia wedding gown, with styles to suit most brides.

Remember a lined wedding gown will keep the cold out, but for a little extra warmth add a flamboyant stole, like this simply perfect marabou feathered stole with a delicate satin tie from Chesca.  To complete any bridal look a pair of heels is key, like these stunning  soft gold leather lizard skin court shoes from L.K. Bennett range, they will ensure you shimmer.

For a little old world glamour and not to be out done by Mrs Clooney, here is a beautiful antique gold gown from the Somerset range by Alice Temperley. Crafted in a flattering empire line cut that hugs the waist and flares in soft pleats to the floor and featuring a subtle wrap front and a deep V-cut-out on the reverse.  Add a pair of sophisticated heels for a true classic and elegant silhouette. These sleek, ultra slim sexy heels from Kurt Geiger are just perfect to ensure you will stand out in a crowd. Add this timeless ostrich feathered bolero from Coast to your your shoulders to ensure heads turn. Finish the look with a pair of  sleek satin evening gloves and you will look a million dollars.
