Halloween Themed Wedding

Why not be a little different this autumn and have a stylish Halloween themed wedding in black and orange tones.

We are not talking about a child’s party decorated in spiders and cobwebs, but a more grown up elegant and sophisticated affair. Though at NS we still think a sweet table should be included in the design plan, as we believe we are never too old for a trick or treat! Allow your guests to fill sweetie bags with a delightful selection of black and orange candy to replace the usual wedding favours.

Start by opting for an evening or late afternoon wedding, kicking off just as the sun starts to go down. Send your wedding guests a simple classic invite, use black and orange detailing to cast a little Halloween spell.

Pumpkins come in all shapes, colour and sizes, so for wedding decor pumpkins must be on the agenda. A few custom designed carved pumpkins will make fantastic table centrepieces, mixed in with pumpkin receptacle for bold flower arrangements.  An inexpensive way and easy way to  brighten the ambience is to use garlands of orange tissue paper pumpkins available from John Lewis.

If a black wedding dress is a little over the top, and to be in keeping with the wedding tradition, we feel that this Phase Eight Esme Wedding Dress is perfect, overlaid with a little black Marabou Bolero Jacket. This fairy-tale wedding dress is not white but a soft ivory with beautiful detailing, a sweetheart neckline, divine floor-length lace skirt overlaid with tulle, adding gorgeous volume.  To complete the look this delicately soft marabou feathers Bolero Jacket from Gina Bacconi, adds a notion of sophisticated, perfect for a chilly evening

To add a pop of orange neon these vibrant, hoola suedette sexy sandals are just the ticket from Miss KG.

We think Halloween bridesmaids will look adorable in this stunning, simple styled black Taylor gown from Ghost, with an elegant low back neckline, just perfect for such a special occasion. Finish the look with these Carvela Gwen mini platforms. These gold stiletto heels are a true object of desire giving an extra touch of edge to any bridesmaid.

The groom and his men could adorn swallow tail flock coats or black morning suit

At the reception let ghouls serve cocktails, such as an Apple Martini or a Black Widow Martini.
To lure your friends away from the Monster Mash serve a spell bounding menu, starting with spicy canapés, followed by pumpkin soup, peri peri chicken and finishing with a dark chocolate desert.

Get the DJ to play songs such as the Monster Mash, Ghostbusters, and Thriller.

Remember a wedding should be fun so a few party games like apple bobbing will not go amiss. Do take lots of photographs and video footage for those fabulous wedding memories.
