Hottest wedding trends

I thought I would bring you up to date with some of the hottest wedding trends as we see them at NS and you may even find yourself wanting to include one or two of these details in your wedding:

First, total personalised wedding are coming into play rather than a copy of a pinterest board or a wedding magazine page.

Lets start with wedding colours

The complete white wedding is taking a back seat for a brighter, though more muted colour scheme. At NS our motto is to add a splash of bold to lift the mood, such as a bright citrus shade or vivid berry tone. Though we did say a splash of bold and this can easily be done through the wedding accessories. At NS we like to add a little of the bold colour to the wedding flowers, via a fabulous signature wedding cocktail or through the table linen. One easy way for the bride to incorporate a splash of bold is via her wedding nails or shoes. Just imagine a pair of bright bridal shoes peeping out from under an elaborate gown and beautiful bright nails around the bridal bouquet.

Value for money

Brides are looking for value for money especially when it comes to a wedding dress and a two-in-one dress may be the answer like this flowing cut Chi Chi London 2 in 1 premium lace top maxi dress from Asos.

Floral vibes

For more of a bohemian vibe a floral wedding gown may suit.

Crafty and creative

Hand painting is another versatile trend and is a great way to pick up details from your dress and add them to your wedding stationery.

Perfect blooms

Beach ceremony

Flowers are still taking centre stage, though with a little bit of a makeover, over sized, elaborate flower arrangements are a hot trend, from beautiful flowered arches, flowered backdrops, and flower decorated ceilings to hanging flower table centrepieces. Flowers can easily be  featured in every aspect of the wedding from the seating plan, through to flower crowns for brides and bridesmaids alike.

pink peony

At NS we are still very much in love with peonies white, pink or peach we don’t care and the bigger the flower head the better to make a real statement, though we have been drawn to the idea of a wedding bouquet made from the simple daisy, with its beautiful citrus yellow centre and soft white petals.

Big or small, simple or elaborate, flowers definitely enhance the wedding look.

Lighting by design

We know lighting as always featured in wedding design, but it seems to becoming a very important wedding element for highlighted prominent areas, such as the top table, the bar, wedding cake display, and even spotlighting table centrepieces.

blue mood

Coloured lighting will enhance the ambiance, especially for an evening reception.

Green ideas

Stylemepretty rustic ideas

A hip and stylish green or natural wedding is trending at the moment, an eco-friendly theme with a country style. Add cool colours to bring the outdoors in. There is not too much emphasis on old whitewashed furniture at the moment. A collective mix of old or vintage styles, anything from old books, picture frames, tin jugs, ladders, suitcases to typewriters for an old world charm.  For a more personal touch incorporate family heirlooms in to the mix, such as Granddad’s old garden spade or Grandma’s old Singer sewing machine.  For transport a horse-drawn carriage will add an old fashioned, but glamorous element.

Farm to table

Garden Veg

Wedding food is becoming more locally sourced direct from farm to table. With organic and homemade playing a big part when choosing menu options.

Naked cake and mini treats

Naked wedding Cake

The chosen wedding cake is naked, totally exposed to guests, not hidden under thick icing.

mini meringues

These mini chocolate meringues kisses make the perfect mini treats for the reception tables, mixed in with tiny cupcakes and mini biscuits are great for edible table decor.

Finally something a little different

sand ceremony

To be a little different and add a sand ceremony to your wedding day, this symbolic ceremony seems to be making an appearance anywhere not just at the beach. A symbolic sand ceremony is where the bride and groom take it in turns to pour coloured sand into a beautiful keepsake glass vase in front of their loved ones to symbolise the joining of two people, two families and the unity of their coming together.  This beautiful wedding unity heart shaped sand ceremony vase set is available from confetti.

Whatever we may think are the hottest wedding trend, do remember it is your wedding and it is totally up to you how you would like your wedding to look.

At NS we believe a wedding is the ultimate excuse to create something extra special in a style to suit you as a couple. Though we do believe we will see all or just a few of  ideas at weddings over the coming months.
