Feathers and frills

Feathers and frills are being used more and more for wedding decor and not just the common old peacock feathers, though I must say the peacock feather does give a great colour palette of teal, purple and green for a wedding.

These peacock colours do not always suit, so here are a few of my ideas for easily incorporating feathers into your wedding day.

From birds with long white feathered tails to these beautiful feathers and baby’s breath silk flowers on wired stems, which can easily be used together or individually  bring a few little feathers and frills into your wedding design.

For young bridesmaids this flights of fancy cute Alice band is ideal to add a few feathers, especially with the feather and diamante gem detail.

This beautiful colour is great for a soft peachy pink wedding palette.

If a full Alice band is too much for tiny maids these cute marabou click clacks, with  flower shaped gem and bow detail are just ideal.

A simple way to bring in the feathers and frills theme is to add this beautiful diamante feather style silver brooch from the John Lewis Range to your wedding attire or your bridal bouquet stem.

Though, if a brooch is not your thing, then this  feather flower in Cream  is superb for decorating a wedding hat,  wedding fascinator, or popping  into to your bridal bouquet or wedding table centre-piece to bring in the feather theme.

Little Feather hook earings

For a touch of wedding feather glamour these very pretty little feather hook earings in silver from the Alex Monroe collection may be what is required. They will add the perfect finishing touch to any a bridal or bridesmaid outfit.

Alex Monroe’s jewellery is handmade by skilled craftsmen giving it character, and here it brilliantly captures the little feathers, making them so animated they look as if they are  blowing in the wind.

To complete the bridal feather look, plus, to add a little bit of star treatment, this fabulous cream feather boa is perfect to drape around your shoulders.

A dear friend who is very spiritual believes white feathers are spirits from the past. I’m not too sure myself, but I do think feathers are a fantastic and versatile wedding decor and definitely add a touch of the old Hollywood style.
