Lavender candle holder

At Norah Sleep we are currently in the process of designing a rustic theme for a marquee wedding and we do like to add a little individuality and put our own touch to our wedding designs.

So, this week at NS towers we have been doing a bit of experimenting in making a lavender votive candle holders for a Rustic Theme. We are putting lavender dressed glass votive candle holders on the reception tables so the key elements we first thought about when creating these were:

  • Simple process
  • Professional finish
  • Easy repetition
  • Rustic design
  • Fab look

We are going to be creating 52 votive candles holders, so a process that is effective and less fiddle the better, I’m sure you would agree.

Another reason is because we prefer to work with a process that provides a solution quick, effective but will get the best results.

Heres what we did.

What you will need.

  • 1x Glass Votive candle holder
  • 1x candle
  • double sided sticky tape
  • sprigs of lavender (dependant on size of glass holder, this case 8 sprigs)
  • twine
  • glue

DIY Lavender votive detail

Wrap Sticky tape around the middle of the glass.

Adding tape

Place the lavender sprigs a good width apart, alternating the direction of the flower head from pointing up to pointing down.

Adding lavender sprigs

Wrap twine round the holder fixing to the sticky tape.

Adding lavender and string

Once wrapped round finish near centre pull a length of twine out and twist in a circular motion to create knot, apply glue and stick.

DIY Candle holder

Allow for glue to set, place in a candle (we chose a small church candle) and voila…you have simply created lavender votive candle holders that are perfect for the rustic vibe and looks fab.

Best Wishes,

Norah x
