Colour palette

One of the most important wedding elements is chosing your wedding colour palette and thinking of ways to embrace your chosen wedding colour palette within your wedding. Here are a few tips to guide you through this important wedding detail:

  1. First, don’t jump in and choose all your wedding colours immediately, build up your wedding colour palette by choosing colours you gravitate towards.
  2. By choosing your own colours and not going with fashion, you will create an ambiance which will make you feel at ease.
  3. Choose a few things that will bring the wedding colour scheme together, such as your bridemaid dresses or table centrepieces.
  4. To recreate a little drama add a darker colour to the mix, a darker version of the main wedding colour or a darker contrasting colour.
  5. Think of your colour palette when zoning your reception area.
  6. When choosing colours you must also think about lighting as it can affect the overall look.
  7. You can create a cool or warm mood through the choice of colour and lighting.
  8. If you are going for quite a muted palette, then just add a splash of a single vibrant colour to brighten the overall look.
  9. Add texture and pattern to give more interest to a colour palette.
  10. Marry in a few colourful wedding accessories to lift the area.
